Security Officer Employment & Pay FAQ – Global Protection Agency
What sets Global Protection Agency officers apart from other security companies? Our officers are trained through Global Protection Academy, covering advanced topics such as CPR, AED, active shooter response, de-escalation, professional reporting, and corporate-level customer service. This goes far beyond state licensing requirements, ensuring our officers perform at the highest standards.
How does Global Protection Agency pay compare to other agencies? We offer higher-than-average pay because we expect higher performance. Our pay scale reflects advanced training, professional appearance, and the responsibilities our officers carry. We invest in quality people and reward them accordingly.
What is the typical pay rate for officers? Rates vary based on assignment type, armed vs. unarmed status, and client needs. On average, our officers earn more than those working for “big box” security firms. Specialized assignments such as executive protection, event security, or armed posts pay at the top end of the scale.
Are there opportunities for pay increases? Yes. Officers who demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and leadership can advance into higher-paying assignments such as executive protection, luxury transport, and supervisory roles.
Do you pay for training? Training through Global Protection Academy is a mix of required certifications and advanced instruction. While certain licenses are employee responsibilities, we offer support and guidance, and advanced training can lead to higher-paying assignments.
What kind of candidates are you looking for? We seek professionals who are disciplined, well-groomed, and serious about security. Prior military, law enforcement, or security experience is valued, but we also consider candidates with the right attitude and willingness to train to our higher standards.
Why should I work for Global Protection Agency instead of a larger national firm? At larger firms, officers are often underpaid, undertrained, and undervalued. At GPA, we treat officers as professionals, provide proper support, and reward them with pay that reflects their role as protectors of our clients and communities.
